Tour Itinerary
The Bromo Tumpak Sewu Waterfall & Ijen Tour will begin at 9.00 am; our team will collect you from the airport or your hotel in Surabaya. You will then travel to Sukapura, Probolinggo, where your accommodation in the Bromo area is located; this journey takes approximately 3–4 hours, depending on traffic conditions. During the journey, you will enjoy views of the cityscape and the long stretch of motorway. Upon arrival at the hotel, the air turns cool with a distinct mountain feel; relax and enjoy the hotel atmosphere before the Bromo sun-rise tour the next day.
*You can visit Madakaripura Waterfall before heading to the hotel; it is located close to your accommodation in the Bromo area (additional charges apply)
Mount Bromo Sunrise Tour starts at 03:30 AM from your hotel. Our 4WD jeep will take you to Bromo’s most popular viewpoints, Penanjakan and Kingkong Hill on the rim of the Tengger Caldera (+-2,700m), where you can enjoy a breathtaking sunrise with panoramic views of Mount Bromo, Batok, and Semeru.After sunrise, the adventure continues across the famous Sea of Sand. From the parking area, you can choose to ride a horse or walk (optional) to the staircase leading up to the crater rim of Mount Bromo. At around 08:30 AM, return to the hotel for breakfast, shower, packing, and check-out, The Mount Bromo Sunrise Tour begins at 3.30 am from your hotel. Our 4WD jeep will take you to the most popular vantage points in Bromo, namely Penanjakan and Kingkong Hill on the edge of the Tengger Caldera (approx. 2,700 m), where you can enjoy a breathtaking sunrise with panoramic views of Mount Bromo, Batok and Semeru. After sunrise, the adventure continues across the famous Sea of Sand. From the car park, you can choose to ride a horse or walk (optional) to the steps leading to the rim of Mount Bromo’s crater. Around 08.30 am, return to the hotel for breakfast, a shower, packing, and check-out, before continuing the journey to your accommodation near Tumpak Sewu Waterfall; this takes approximately 4–5 hours depending on traffic conditions. During the journey, you’ll enjoy urban scenery and patches of forest with natural cliffs. Upon arrival at the accommodation, enjoy your stay and rest up for tomorrow morning’s Tumpak Sewu trekking trip.
The Tumpak Sewu Tour will begin at 7 am after breakfast. We will first trek to the Tumpak Sewu viewpoint, where you can admire and capture the panoramic landscape of the Tumpak Sewu waterfall from above. After that, we will trek back along the river to reach Tumpak Sewu Waterfall; this takes about an hour’s trek. Along the way, you will descend the hill and follow the river, and you will also pass several photo spots such as Tetes Cave and Blue Lake. Upon arrival at Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, capture your photos and enjoy the spectacular beauty of God’s creation. Once you’ve had your fill, we’ll return to the accommodation to freshen up and have lunch (at your own expense), after which we’ll continue our journey to the Banyuwangi area, where your accommodation is located. Upon arrival at the accommodation, check in and rest before the midnight hike to Ijen Crater.
The Ijen Crater Midnight Tour will begin at around midnight (00.00). We will head straight to the foot of Mount Ijen/Paltuding Post (approx. 1,800 m), a journey of around one hour from your hotel. Along the way, you will pass through villages, rice fields and forests with ancient trees. Upon arrival at Paltuding Post, you will enjoy a cup of coffee or tea whilst listening to a briefing about the climb from the team, accompanied by the cool, crisp mountain air. At 02:00, we will begin the climb. From here, the ascent will take approximately 1.5–2 hours depending on your physical fitness (3 km). The Ijen hiking trail has 6 checkpoints, with a stall and toilet available at almost every one. Upon arrival at the summit area (approx. 2,386 m), we will follow the path towards the crater rim to witness the blue fire phenomenon, starting from the crater rim (after a 3 km climb from Paltuding) and descending to the crater floor over a distance of around 800 metres across steep, rocky, and slippery terrain. The descent into the crater takes 30–45 minutes. Upon reaching the crater rim, enjoy the blue fire phenomenon, which exists in only two places in the world (Indonesia and Ethiopia); don’t forget to take as many photos as possible.
*If your physical condition prevents you from making it to the Blue Fire, you can head straight to the Sunrise Point area
Once we’ve had our fill, we’ll head back up the same path to the sunrise point; this journey takes around 30 minutes until 1 hours from the Blue Fire area. Upon arrival at the sunrise point, capture the moment with a photo here against the panoramic backdrop of Ijen Crater At around 07.00, we will head back to Paltuding Post, Return to your accommodation for breakfast and to freshen up. In the afternoon, you will be taken to Ketapang Harbour, from where you will cross over to Gilimanuk Harbour. Upon arrival at Gilimanuk Harbour, our team will escort you to your accommodation in the Bali area – The end of the tour. See you on your next adventure!
